My homemade cake stands

day trip

We've been to the seaside today! in the bloody rain as per usual. Horrendous journey down but all was fine when we finally got there. Went to the reception venue to pay the deposit and sign the confirmation and we took some pics of the function room coz kel had read somewhere its a good idea for planning decorations. While we where there we chilled out in the lounge with cappucino and chocolate cake and I stretched out on the comfy chesterfield with my new charity shop bargain novel! Afterwards we went to the ceremony location to pay some more money and the woman who drives the national trust minibus reversed into our parked car and smashed the lights! What a day! Before heading home we parked up so I could take some photos of my bridge. Menai has now been officially renamed Munch Bridge by kel coz i love looking at it so much! I'm going to post my photos in my 'made by munch' blog rather than here though.

I wonder...

I know we have already chosen that Dessy dress for Wils but I've been thinking maybe we should look for something more suitable. By that I mean cheaper, we are doing everything on a budget for this wedding and although the dress is only £170 in comparison to everything its quite hefty. For example I wouldn't dream of spending that on my own outfit. Anyway I have found this dress from Olivia Mae and its a much better colour, more of a pastel yellow I'm not sure of the price but they are having a 50% sale so could be worth a look. Its a bit more conservative i think understated and whimsical I prefer it.Add Image

latest makes

here are the latest buttonholes i've made. The calla lillies are made from fabric and really easy.

this is made from a flower i've made from pink crepe paper, a leaf i made from fabric and some artificial gyp i bought and have split into loads of small pieces

Here i put together a homemade tissue flower and fabric leaf, an artificial rose bud and the artificial gyp.

This is 2 different artificial stems that i stripped down and put together with a fabric leaf i made. Not sure i like it that much - think it would look better with a different coloured leaf.

tissue paper flower, fabric leaf and yellow artificial stems as before

I love this one even though only the leaf is homemade and i just seperated the orchid from a large bunch added some other blossoms and wired it all together

erm not sure about this one - i think i'll add a fabric leaf to it and see how it looks then.

paper and fabric flowers

not sure if i've posted this link already but just found this brill page on Martha that has all her paper and fabric flowers in one place

I love this

After looking at the obvious online stores for 'off the peg' bridesmaid dresses, bhs m & s and debenhams. There are some lovely ones really cheap but not in Kasey's size. I have found one on BHS Bridal that I love its not exceptionally cheap and is more expensive than the original dress we liked but I looked at that dress last night and was not overly keen. This one is gorgeous and is ivory and blue which is great. Anyway here it is...

lets face the music

OK so my new venture is the play list and actually all music involved in the day from the ceremony to the first dance. Our music tastes are so eclectic the choices range from the pussycat dolls to Harry Connick junior and all in between. Every time I think of a song though I forget to write it down I'm sure I'm missing loads out, its a work in progress.
