reception idea

Since neither of us is convinced with the sea zoo idea i've been looking at other options. I've discounted hiring a village hall as we would have to provide all drinks and that would be way too costly. My fav idea of the day is Tafarn Y Gors, a pub/restaurant in Gaerwen that frequently uses the restaurant as a function room and is next to a caravan site. They dont have email so i've rung and asked them to send a price list for a buffet for 80 people. The caravan site would be a great place for guests that cant be fitted in at cerrig y barcud and i've spoken to a coach company about ferrying us and the 30 odd staying at cerrig to and from gaerwen and it would cost about £150. If only we knew Dave Coaches!

Reception - somewhere on Anglesey suitable for a large family barbecue with holiday cottages and other mixed accommodation like static caravans etc. To be catered by the family. Atmosphere like Phil's World Cup Parties.

Munch - Aubergine dress and green chrysanthemum wrist corsage
Kel - Grey halterneck waistcoat suit, aubergine pinstripe if possible. Green and aubergine buttonhole.
Matthew and Lewis - Grey suit with aubergine cravat or tie and waistcoat. Green chrysanthemum buttonhole
Wilson - Green dress and purple chrysanthemum hair corsage.
Kacey - white flower girl dress with aubergine sash in bow at back with front green flower detail

Food & Drink
Cocktails - Mojito and Pink Champagne
Food - BBQ, possibly hog or lamb roast, lots of salads incl artichoke and feta cous-cous and Mandy's homemade coleslaw.
Desert - not decided maybe just wedding cake or other homemade cakes.
Wedding Cake - 3 tier. Bottom tier - white iced with green dots and base aubergine ribbon. Middle tier -Apple white iced and base aubergine ribbon. Top Tier white iced with dotty icing flower and base aubergine ribbon.

Del has just bought home an invite which she has designed and loads of cake ideas so exciting...Also how about we drive ourselves to Menai straights then meet the boat there and arrive and leave via the boat from Plas Newydd just an idea that i know i just disregarded but that is going to happen so often I'm afraid dear blog you will have to get used to it. Have to go now we are looking after our gorgeous flower girl Kacey.

Liscence to drive

Ok just a quick thought re the wedding car. I just went to drop off Caits bday card and Bri's car was in the drive and i thought...we are supposed to be saving money so why am i thinking about spending so much (well i dont know how much as it is impossible to get a blooming price from anywhere) when there is sexy new audi right there and thinking about it auntie christine has an audi tt i mean we know plenty of people with money and therefore hot cars so i guess the lovely vintage and the sailing boat have to go...

Hoban's brilliant idea

instead of a car taking us away from the ceremony we can have a boat decorated with 'just married' to sail us away down Menai Straits. Wonder if he's gonna pay?!

Really stuggling to find any kind of wedding car service on anglesey found a couple of websites with cars similar to what we would like but no idea on prices or anything. Anyway we are now not certain of where to hold the reception so i guess i couldnt tell them the journey time anyway. The thing is i think a car could be a huge expense we could do without and ideally we would need space for 5 of us which is a mare, but its a lovely drive down to plas newydd and with all the guests waiting we need to arrive in style! Don't we???
